Mathews Readymix pours strong foundations at Cussick Apartments in Chico

Our busy blue-striped trucks are at it again! Have you seen them zipping around lately and wondered where they’re off to? Mathews Readymix is proud to announce we’re working on a multi-family affordable new housing development called Cussick Apartments in Chico. 

Affordable housing options

The Danco Group is creating Cussick Apartments to provide affordable multi-family housing to low-income residents. Seven buildings will be constructed with unique color schemes in a California contemporary “post-modern” style. The buildings will contain 75 residences and an on-site manager’s unit, and there will be four different unit sizes to choose from. 

Located in a desirable area 

Located on West East Ave near the Esplanade, Cussick Apartments will benefit from a great location in Chico near essentials like groceries and medical care. The area is already home to mixed commercial-use businesses, allowing residents to walk, bike, and drive to wherever they need. 

Rich with amenities

Cussick Apartments will have community support services onsite, as well as both private and public spaces for residents to enjoy. The design has been carefully formed to foster the community’s social interactions and outdoor activities while providing a safe environment for residents. A centrally located paseo path will wind through the center of the design, complemented by a green space beckoning residents to savor the California sunshine and each other’s company. 

Mathews Readymix plays an important role 

This project will come to life with teamwork from Mathews Readymix. We’re giving the buildings a solid foundation with around 600 cubic yards of our standard concrete. In addition to this, we’ll be doing sidewalks, gutters, curbs, and other essential parts of the build.
